A machine gun and five handguns have been seized by gardai following a search of a site in Rathcoole.
The seizure was made this morning at the L6065 on the Naas Road.
The search forms part of an investigation into an organised crime group.
No arrests have been made in relation to the incident.
A garda spokesperson said: "This morning, as part of an investigation into an organised crime group, a search was conducted at a site on the L6065 on the Naas Road, Rathcoole.
"During the course of the search, six firearms were seized. Initial examination of the firearms indicate they are comprised of five (5) handguns and one (1) machine gun.
"No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing."
