UPDATE: The road is now clear.
The M8 is closed in both directions tonight amid reports of an incident on a motorway bridge.
All traffic is at a standstill on both sides of the busy road.
Motorists reports waits of around 10-15 minutes so far and mass congestion around Junction 22, which is having a knock-on effect up and down the route.
One eyewitness reported police activity on a motorway bridge.
Traffic Scotland is reporting delays from Junction 22 - 31, as well as on the Kingston Bridge.
A Traffic Scotland statement reads: "All lanes closed Westbound for up to 15 minutes."
