M6, M53, M56, M57 and M58 motorway closures starting February 27

Parts of the M6, M53, M56, M57 and M58 will close over the coming week.

Motorways in Merseyside will see closures this week (Monday, February 27 - Sunday, March 5) as National Highways continue to repair the region's roads. This week there will be two weekend overnight closures on the M6 and M53, according to the Highways travel planning website.

Sections of the M6, M53 and M56 will also be closed overnight from Monday through until Friday.

Here are the motorway closures you can expect in Merseyside this week. This list is subject to changes from National Highways.

Monday, February 27

The M6 northbound between junctions 21A (Croft) and 26 (Orrell) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M6 southbound between junctions 21A (Croft) and 26 (Orrell) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M53 northbound between junction one (Bidston) and two (Upton) will have two lanes closed and one lane will be closed between junctions four (Clatterbridge) and five (Hooton). Both closures will be between 8pm and 6am.

The M53 southbound between junctions nine (Station Road) and 10 (Stanlow Halt) will have one lane closed between 9pm and 5am.

The M56 eastbound between junctions 11 (Preston Brook) and 14 (Elton) will have two lanes closed between 8am and 6am.

The M56 westbound between junctions 11 (Preston Brook) and 14 (Elton) will have two lanes closed between 8am and 6am.

The M57 northbound between junctions two (Forest House) three (Huyton Spur) will have one lane closed between 9pm and 5am.

The M57 southbound between junctions two (Forest House) three (Huyton Spur) will have one lane closed between 9pm and 5am.

Tuesday, February 28

The M6 northbound between junctions 21A (Croft) and 26 (Orrell) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M6 southbound between junctions 21A (Croft) and 26 (Orrell) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M53 northbound between junction one (Bidston) and two (Upton) will have two lanes closed between 8pm and 6am.

The M56 eastbound between junctions 11 (Preston Brook) and 12 (Rocksavage) will have two lanes closed between 8am and 6am.

The M56 westbound between junctions 11 (Preston Brook) and 12 (Rocksavage) will have two lanes closed between 8am and 6am.

The M57 northbound between junctions two (Forest House) three (Huyton Spur) will have one lane closed between 9pm and 5am.

Wednesday, March 1

The M6 northbound between junctions 21A (Croft) and 23 (Haydock) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M6 southbound between junctions 22 (Winwick) and 26 (Orrell) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M53 northbound between junction one (Bidston) and two (Upton) will have two lanes closed between 8pm and 6am.

The M56 eastbound between junctions 11 (Preston Brook) and 12 (Rocksavage) will have two lanes closed between 8am and 6am.

The M56 westbound between junctions 11 (Preston Brook) and 12 (Rocksavage) will have two lanes closed between 8am and 6am.

The M57 northbound between junctions two (Forest House) three (Huyton Spur) will have one lane closed between 9pm and 5am.

The M57 southbound between junctions two (Forest House) three (Huyton Spur) will have one lane closed between 9pm and 5am.

The M58 eastbound between junctions one (M57) and three (Bickerstaffe) will have two lanes closed between 11.45pm and 6am.

The M58 Westbound between junctions one (M57) and three (Bickerstaffe) will have two lanes closed between 9pm and 5am.

Thursday, March 2

The M6 northbound between junctions 21A (Croft) and 23 (Haydock) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M6 southbound between junctions 23 (Haydock) and 26 (Orrell) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M53 northbound between junction one (Bidston) and two (Upton) will have two lanes closed between 8pm and 6am.

The M56 eastbound between junctions 11 (Preston Brook) and 12 (Rocksavage) will have two lanes closed between 8am and 6am.

The M56 westbound between junctions 11 (Preston Brook) and 12 (Rocksavage) will have two lanes closed between 8am and 6am.

The M58 eastbound between junctions one (M57) and three (Bickerstaffe) will have two lanes closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M58 Westbound between junctions one (M57) and three (Bickerstaffe) will have two lanes closed between 9pm and 5am.

Friday, March 3

The M6 northbound between junctions 21A (Croft) and 23 (Haydock) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M6 southbound between junctions 23 (Haydock) and 26 (Orrell) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M53 northbound between junction one (Bidston) and two (Upton) will have two lanes closed between 8pm and 6am.

The M56 eastbound between junctions 11 (Preston Brook) and 12 (Rocksavage) will have two lanes closed between 8am and 6am.

The M56 westbound between junctions 11 (Preston Brook) and 12 (Rocksavage) will have two lanes closed between 8am and 6am.

Saturday, March 4

The M6 northbound between junctions 23 (Haydock) and 26 (Orrell) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M6 southbound between junctions 23 (Haydock) and 26 (Orrell) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M53 northbound between junction seven (Netherpool Road) and eight (Rossmore Road) will have one lane closed between 8pm and 6am.

Sunday, March 5

No closures
