M32: Police called to man standing in middle of Bristol motorway

A man was spotted standing in the M32 motorway in Bristol earlier today.

The incident prompted a police and paramedics presence at the section of the motorway just before Junction 3.

The incident briefly held up traffic around 2.15pm while the man was on the road.

The incident was resolved within 25 minutes and the road was cleared.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: "We received calls regarding concern for a person’s welfare after a pedestrian was seen on the M32 at around 2.15pm this afternoon (December 2).

"Police and paramedics attended and the person was found safe.

"Appropriate words of advice were given and officers resumed patrol at about 2.40pm."
