M2 crash causing delays as emergency services attend scene

The emergency services are in attendance following a three vehicle collision on the M2 heading into Belfast this morning.

The incident took place at around 7.45am between the Duncrue Exit and the Nelson Street slip-off and it is understood there are tailbacks as far as Fortwilliam Roundabout .

One of the lanes is reported to be obstructed by three vehicles, but the road is  still passable.

Police and the ambulance service are in attendance at the scene. It is yet known if anyone has suffered any injuries.

A PSNI spokesperson confirmed they were in attendance at a three vehicle collision.

They said: "We are in attendance at a three vehicle collision. Enquiries are still in their early stages and it is not known if anyone has suffered any injuries."

Meanwhile, in Co Tyrone there are reports of a lorry spilling a sizeable quantity of stone chippings (6 tonnes) on the A29 Moneymore / Cookstown Road at the Ballyforlea Junction, delays are expected.
