Lyon hand Manchester United Moussa Dembele summer transfer update

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas insists he will allow any player to leave the club in the summer transfer window if they really want to go.

A number of Lyon players have been linked with potential exits at the end of the season with star striker Moussa Dembele among those to be tipped for a move.

Recent reports have heavily linked both Manchester United and Chelsea with a move for the French forward who has netted an impressive 39 goals in less than two years at the club.

MEN Sport understand Dembele was one of three permanent striker signings considered by United in the January transfer window, however the club eventually decided to sign Odion Ighalo on a short-term loan deal.

United could yet intensify their interest in Dembele ahead of the summer transfer window and any potential buyer has been boosted by the recent admission from Aulas.

“We already have a certain number of offers for our players for summer," he said.

“We sell the players who want to leave to where they want to go.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed deadline day loan signing Ighalo will be part of the United travelling squad for their game against Chelsea on Monday.

"Yeah, he is going to travel with us. We will just see his fitness work this week and I think we will get him sharp," the United manager told club media.

"We want to integrate him as quickly as we can because, of course, he is desperate to play for us."
