Luxury home with the ultimate 'sea view' among the most expensive sold on Merseyside

A luxury Wirral home with breath-taking sea views was among the most expensive properties sold on Merseyside in a month.

Nestled on St Margarets Road in Hoylake , the property sold for an impressive £795,000 on September 12, which is the most recent month with available Land Registry data.

Located tight on the tip of the Wirral Peninsula , St Margarets Road is a quiet cul-de-sac with the beach at the end of it - and the street practically leads straight out onto the beach.

Plenty of Wirral homes are able to boast "sea views", but this one goes one step further, with a secluded path leading straight onto the beach at the end of the road.

The top spot on the most expensive properties list was actually taken by a flat in Lowood Court on Portland Street, Southport - which sold for £1,778,013 on September 25.

However, this sale may have been a buy-to-let, a transfer to a company, or a repossession, as it seems anomalous that single flat in the area would fetch this much money.

The Land Registry lists the price paid for every property bought at market value - and the data also includes sales under a power of sale or repossessions, buy-to-lets and transfers to non-private individuals.

Other properties on the list of most expensive homes sold include a £665,000 home simply named "Barn 2" on Mere View Farm in Prescot and a sprawling family home on Abbery Road in West Kirby.

On the opposite end of the property scale, the cheapest house sold in the region over the same period was a flat on Mark Street in Everton which fetched just £32,500.

Other areas that featured in the list of least expensive house sales in our region were Wallasey , Anfield and Birkenhead.

Perhaps surprisingly, a home in Hoylake also featured on the list of least expensive house sales - despite the area often being included on the list of most expensive properties.

Coming in at number seven, the flat on Clyesdale Road sold for £46,000.
