Luxury flat that costs £1800 to rent a month mocked for 'prison cell' bedroom

With London rental prices the way they are, a plush three-bedroom property to rent for £1,800 a month might not seem so bad.

However, after seeing the third bedroom, some house viewers haven't been so sure.

The listing for the home, which was posted on OpenRent, has been mocked online as some say one of the rooms looks like a "prison cell".

The fully-furnished apartment is in Woolwich and sits on the new Elizabeth Line, making it less than 15 minutes from central London.

As well as three bedrooms the place comes with a massive TV and open plan living room and brand new kitchen.

It also has two bathrooms, feature windows and access to a garden.

According to the post online, the letting agent is looking for long-term tenants with a minimum of a year.

The impressive building used to be Woolwich's magistrates' court, was built in 1912 and is Grade II listed.

In the listing - let by OpenRent, it says the third tiny room can be used as a study space, however as it comes fitted with a single bed and wardrobe people weren't impressed.

One viewer joked: "Prisoners in Sweden live better than Londoners."
Another said: "You're doing 20 years for £1.8k a month."

The OpenRent advert says: "This beautiful apartment consists of two double rooms and one single room which can be used as a study room or bedroom.

"It has its own single bed and double wardrobe.

"This conversion is furnished to the highest standard with a leather sofa, high ceilings, huge entrance hall, wood flooring, newly fitted kitchen and bathroom with white brick feature walls as well as a utility room and additional storage.

"This beautiful apartment is full of character and definitely worth a view."
