Fred Andrews' final moments on "Riverdale" Wednesday night were emblematic to the man behind the character.
In Luke Perry's last scene on the hit CW show, the actor stood by and comforted his son, Archie, who is struggling with the death of a boxing match opponent.
"Son, from everything you've said, it's clear Randy died from those drugs. The autopsy will support that. You're innocent," Fred says.
It's a characteristic that many said transcended the screen and spoke to Perry himself.
Following the news of Perry's sudden death last month, fellow stars and fans alike shared their stories of support and kindness from the actor.
"I am still in shock and I have no words beyond saying he was a truly kind gentleman. He will be mourned and missed by everyone who know him and the millions who love him," his former "90210" co-star Christine Elise McCarthy wrote on Instagram.
Earlier this week, showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa announced this week's episode would be Perry's last. He described the scene as "a beautiful, true moment between a father and his son."
"With these scenes could go on forever..." he added.
