Luis Guilherme: West Ham confirm second January exit as forward departs

West Ham have confirmed that Luis Guilherme has left the club to join Sporting Lisbon.

Guilherme, the 19-year-old, has departed the Hammers on a permanent deal that is believed to be worth around €20million (£17.4million).

The Brazilian moved to east London from his homeland back in the summer of 2024, joining from Palmeiras for a fee of around £25.5m.

He became the first signing of Julen Lopetegui’s reign at the London Stadium, and the first new recruit under former technical director Tim Steidten.

However, Guilherme’s playing time in an Irons shirt was limited, and he has managed just five outings in the Premier League this season.

All but one came as a substitute, and the one fixture that he started this term - in the 2-2 draw with Bournemouth - he was withdrawn at half time by manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

Guilherme is the latest West Ham departure this month after Niclas Fullkrug left on loan to join AC Milan.

The Hammers have undergone a real changing of the guard in recent months, with the likes of Mohammed Kudus, Edson Alvarez and Nayef Aguerd all leaving the club.

Emerson, Vladimir Coufal, Danny Ings, Wes Foderingham, Kurt Zouma, Aaron Cresswell and Michail Antonio also departed in the summer.
