- A North Carolina woman landed a huge prize on a new scratch-off game just days after it was launched.
- Jeanette King of Greenville won the first $1 million top prize in the new "Jackpot Millions" lottery scratch-off game. King purchased her winning $20 scratch-off ticket from the Harris Teeter on Evans Street in Greenville.
- “When King arrived at lottery headquarters Monday, she had a decision to make,” the North Carolina lottery wrote. “She could choose to receive the prize as an annuity of $50,000 over 20 years or a lump sum of $600,000.”
- She decided to take the lump sum of $600,000 and, after required tax withholdings, brought home $432,066.
- The "Jackpot Millions" game, which debuted this month, still has two more $1 million top prizes available to be claimed.
