LUCKNOW: A day after a man, Ashish Yadav, and his aides rammed a car into a ‘tilak’ function in Gosainganj, killing one of the guests and injuring seven others, the police arrested all the accused persons on Friday.
The act was caught on CCTV camera and the video went viral on social media.
Cops said the Ashish had an old business rivalry with another Ashish Yadav, a property dealer, who was attending the function. The prime accused reached the venue a few hours before the incident and had a heated exchange with Ashish.
The accused blew his top after a few guests, including Ashish, publicly humiliated him.
“The prime accused, Ashish Yadav, and his aides Raj Kumar aka Bhole, Manish, Abhay Yadav aka Lalla, and Swapnil aka Radhe have been arrested and the car used in the crime has been seized,” ACP, Gosainganj, Swati Chaudhary said.
“Ashish has another case against him in Sushant Golf City where villagers have accused him of attacking them and forcibly occupying their property,” she said.
The ACP said that Ashish reached the venue of ‘tilak’ function of Mahendra Yadav, where his business rival and namesake, Ashish Yadav, was a guest. The duo had a heated exchange of words in which some guests also joined. Later, truce was brokered and Ashish left the spot.
“However, Ashish Yadav was still irked over the humiliation and abuse he faced at the venue. He decided to teach a lesson to Ashish,” said Chaudhary.
Later in the night, Ashish, along with his aides, drove their car into the venue and ran berserk, killing one Sooraj Yadav (26) of Kabirpur village in Gosaiganj, and injuring seven others.
