LUCKNOW: The body of a 22-year-old woman was found under mysterious circumstances in the basement of a prominent apartment in Sushant Golf city area.
The victim, identified as Rashi Kumari of Talkatora, worked as a nurse in a private hospital near Shaheed Path. The incident spread sensation in the apartment and the shocked residents gathered around the basement.
According to ADCP South zone Rajesh Srivastava, a guard spotted the woman's body in the basement near the air duct and informed U. A police team reached the spot and during investigation it found the footwear of the deceased on the 14th floor. The woman was found in the basement at the exit point of the air duct.
"Prima facie there are no visible injury marks on the body except a minor injury near her waist. We are not sure whether she jumped from the 14th floor or was killed by someone. The woman was carrying a bag with her which was found near her body. She joined the hospital three days back," said Srivastava.
SHO Sushant Golf City, Shailendra Giri said that we recovered an Aadhar card in the woman's bag and contacted her family members.
Victim's father Rajesh, who owns a tea shop in the Talkatora area, reached the spot and identified the body. He hasn't given any complaint as of now.
He further added that the guard of the apartment didn't stop the woman while she was entering the apartment, hence it couldn't be verified as to why she came there.
"The security team of the apartment is being questioned and we are examining the CCTVs of the apartment to check whether she was a regular visitor or came for the first time," he said.
The body of the deceased has been sent for the post-mortem. "The exact cause of death could only be ascertained after the post-mortem report comes out," said Giri.
