Lucknow: Bail plea of man who forced minor for nikah rejected

LUCKNOW: The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court on Wednesday rejected bail plea of a married Muslim man who allured a Hindu minor girl in order to marry her by presenting himself as Raj instead of disclosing his real name Anwar Ali.

Passing the order, a bench of Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh observed, “Looking at the nature of offence, marital status of the applicant and also the fact that he introduced himself as ‘Raj’ to the prosecutrix though he is Anwar Ali, and the prosecutrix being minor (13 years) , this court does not find any ground to enlarge the applicant on bail.”

The order came on the bail plea of Ali who was booked under sections 363, 366 and 376 of IPC and POCSO Act for raping the minor girl. The FIR was lodged with Mahrua police station in Ambedkar Nagar district.

The bench found that the applicant was a married man. He practiced Muslim religion. He introduced himself through social media to the prosecutrix as ‘Raj’. He got the prosecutrix entangled in his false love web.
