Lucknow: 19-year-old NEET aspirant’s body found hanging at uncle’s house

LUCKNOW: A NEET aspirant, the daughter of an Army man, was found hanging at her uncle’s house in SGPGI police station area on Saturday evening. Police sent the body for autopsy and investigation is underway.

Studies-related stress is suspected to be the reason for the suicide, said police officials. The girl Kshama (19) was staying at her uncle’s house in sector 12, Vrindavan Colony, and was preparing for NEET exam.

Her uncle Srikant Dubey said Kshama took the extreme step on Saturday evening.

“She was found hanging from the ceiling with a dupatta tied around her neck. Her father is in the Army and is posted in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

“It is being said the girl was under stress of clearing the NEET exam and so took the extreme step,” said SHO, SGPGI, Dharmpal Singh.

“We have recovered a note from her room in which she has mentioned ‘I am sorry, could not meet expectations’,” said assistant commissioner police, Cantonment, Archana Singh.
