Love Island star Paige Turley braces the snow in shorts for London half marathon training

Former Scots Love Island star Paige Turley has braced the winter weather as she updated her fans on her gruelling training progress for a London half marathon next month.

The 25-year-old looked freezing as she took to social media in a video of her out running in a pair of shorts as the snow showered down on the star.

"Rain wind or snow, we are out getting the miles done. I mean I didn't really choose the best attire for snow at all," Paige wrote on her Instagram as she updated her 1.6 million followers.

"But we're moving, we are getting there."

The Scots singer also shared a link to her JustGiving page, following our previous reports of how thankful she is to her loyal fleet of fans for all their kind donations in her bid to raise funds for Mental Health UK.

And it appears she is not holding back on the training, as we previously reported she is taking fans on the journey with her.

Paige, who was the winner of the ITV reality show winter series in 2020 with partner Finn Tapp, announced earlier this month she is taking part in one of London's half marathons in memory of one of her late friends from her hometown in West Lothian.

Jamie Aitchison, who she hailed as an "upstanding guy", sadly passed away in December last year following a battle with his own mental health.

She has so far raised £1,430 of her £4,000 target despite only launching the fundraiser a few weeks ago.

Announcing the news, the Scots singer wrote: "In December last year my hometown sadly lost another friend, son, brother, grandson and upstanding guy, Jamie Aitchison aged 20, after he sadly lost his battle against the scourge of mental health.

"The tragic news has left a hole in many people's hearts with many in the community struggling to come to terms with the loss of Jamie, who was the light in a dark room."

"Unfortunately, this is news that is heard all too often with mental health reported to be effecting 1 in 4 people in the UK," she added.

"Therefore, I’ve decided to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon (22km) on April 2nd with all donations going towards ‘Mental Health UK’."
