Love Island's Ollie Williams rushed to hospital and in intensive care after balcony fall

Love Island star Ollie Williams was rushed to hospital after falling from a balcony.

The reality star, who appeared in the 2020 series of the ITV dating show, is being treated in intensive care after breaking multiple bones, including his pelvis.

Sharing news of his dramatic week to Instagram, Ollie said he'd only just felt secure enough to post about the incident.

The 23-year-old said he'd been told he is facing 'tough rehab ahead' but is staying hopeful that he'll make a full recovery.

He wrote: "I wasn’t really prepared to post this until I was out of the woods proper, which I now think I am (hopefully!).

"I fell off a balcony last weekend and ended up in intensive care with a broken pelvis, wrist and internal bleeding.

"With the incredible support of @lauranofer, my family and friends and some great surgeons; I’m on the mend. Tough rehab ahead but I am confident along with my doctors I will make a full recovery.

"I really couldn’t have dealt with this mentally without all of your messages of support, so thank you."

In the photos Ollie could be seen with bandages around his hand a cut to his head.

"Be back soon, big love and Merry Christmas all," he signed off.

Ollie is best known for making a brief - but memorable - appearance on Love Island 2020.

The Cornish aristocrat was part of the batch of original singletons taking part in the first ever winter edition of the show.

After being initially coupled up with Paige Turley, who went on to win the show with Finnley Tapp, Ollie walked out of the villa after just three days.

At the time Ollie said his 'heart had been elsewhere' and he quickly reunited with ex Laura when he returned home.

During Ollie's short stint on the show shocking pictures emerged of him posing with dead animals.

Outraged fans branded him a 'trophy hunter' and demanded he be kicked off the show.

Ollie insisted he had not killed the creatures himself and had been taking part in conservation and anti-poaching work when the photos were taken.

The reality star continues to refer to himself as a 'professional hunter and conservationist' after the furore.

After he posted to Instagram, Ollie was sent messages of support by pals.

Fellow ex-Love Islander Charlie Brake also piped up in the comments to say 'Get well soon bud.'

Love Island is set to return to South Africa in January, this time with Maya Jama as host.

The new series is rumoured to launch on Monday 16th January, although ITV have yet to officially announce the news.

Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu are the reigning winners of the show after winning the most fan votes in the August final.

The pair have gone on to snap up numerous brand deals, take part in their own travel show and last night showed their commitment to each other with promise rings.
