Love Island star nearly quit ITV show after huge bust up left her feeling 'violated'

Danica Taylor has confessed she nearly quit Love Island after a horrific row left her feeling "violated and disrespected".

The Islander - who finished in sixth place with her partner, footballer Jamie Allen - had a difficult time in the villa, being rejected multiple times including by Billy Brown. The pair famously fell out when Billy told the other boys what he'd done with Danica under the sheets, before brutally dumping her. He also pied her off in a challenge, leaving her in tears.

Now she's out the villa, Danica admitted she nearly quit following the argument, and explained how she told producers she was leaving. She also claims producers told her his behaviour was "out of order" before encouraging her to stay.

She told OK!: "The producers helped me a lot and calmed me down. I went to the beach hut and I was streaming with tears. I was like, 'I just want to go now. I can’t do this anymore. Get me out of here. I feel violated and disrespected.'

"And they said, 'We completely get it, it’s so out of order of him.' They understood where I was coming from, but also said, 'You’re so amazing, don’t let what he’s done or anyone else in here make you feel otherwise.'"

Danica explained how she eventually calmed down and was convinced to stay, insisting that she knows her self-worth and felt that it was his loss rather than hers after their blazing row.

She added: "It was one of those things where I calmed down and realised it doesn’t define me as a woman, just because a couple of guys in there weren’t interested in that way. Again, it’s their loss."

Billy and Danica dated briefly on the show (ITV)

Billy had previously confessed he regrets the row with Danica - and pie-ing her in the challenge.

"The challenge, I would’ve snogged Danica instead of Gemma. But the only reason I did that was because I knew Gemma was going to pie me and I thought, 'I’ll have a bit of banter, give her a peck and laugh it off,'" he said in his exit interview.

"But it turned and didn’t come out the best way and that’s my fault. And telling the boys in the morning what happened with me and Danica, I’d change that as well."

However, he insisted he had a good Love Island experience, adding: "I feel fine. The reason I did that was because I didn’t want to waste time. I said to Danica that 'I'd rather tell you now that I haven't felt that click rather than just carry on and we’re not going anywhere.' I’d rather leave and know that I’ve been true to myself rather than drag it on and pretend we’re a happy couple when we’re not. We did have good times but it wasn’t a romantic thing. There is no bad blood there."
