Love Island star Gemma Owen's mum says Luca was 'close to bullying' and supports Tasha

Love Island star Gemma Owen's mum Louise has shown her support to Tasha Ghouri as fans accused Luca Bish and Dami Hope of bullying the Islander.

Gemma's mum Louise spoke out about the uncomfortable scenes where Luca, 23, and 26-year-old Dami pied Tasha in the Snog, Marry Pie challenge this week.

As Luca served Tasha a pie to the face, he told her he could "give a list as long as Adam [Collard]".

Meanwhile, Dami said his pie for Tash was "because she gets away with a lot of stuff" he then added: "But this pie you weren't gonna get away with."

The lads received widespread criticism on social media and were accused of bullying as Tasha was left upset once again by the lads coming at her during a challenge.

However, the pair were later seen apologising to dancer Tasha, 23, in moments that many believed were set up by producers.

Luca's family also shared a public apology this week for his "insensitive behaviour" and said he will be "deeply embarrassed" when he watches the scenes back.

Gemma's mum Louise Owen has since weighed in on the scenes, days before she is set to meet Luca in the Meet the Parents challenge.

Michael Owen's wife shared a comment under a post of the moment Tasha asked Andrew Le Page to be her boyfriend on Instagram.

She wrote: "I hope Tasha is ok, I feel it's close to bullying now which is so sad to see."

Some beady-eyed fans spotted Louise's comment and quizzed her about where she stands as one replied to Louise's comment asking: "Do you not approve of Luca?"

While a second said: "So happy to see Gemma supporting Tash in there."

Louise's comment soon went viral on Twitter, with Love Island fans soon sharing their own take on what it could mean for Luca.

One wrote: "Lol Gemma’s mum just gave her seal of rejection for Luca. Looks like Luca’s dream of becoming Michael Owen’s SIL will never materialise".

"even gemma’s mum agrees that the boys are bullying tasha… somehow i don’t think luca will be getting mrs michael owen’s approval…" another added.

And a third added: "Well that’s Lucas disapproval of Gemma’s family Gemma Owens’ mum commented this, looks like Luca won’t be getting on with Michael Owen after all, sorry to crush your dreams Luca x".

It comes after the fishmonger's sister took a break from social media as she was left feeling "broken" over threats from trolls on social media.

In a statement on Luca's Instagram page, Claudia wrote: "If I'm being honest, not remotely OK. It's really hard.

"How would you feel if you were having people constantly praying for death for the people you love over more than anything in the world?

"We feel broken. I understand that people will always have their opinions, but if you saw HALF of the messages we have received then I'm sure anyone would feel disgusted."

Sharing two vile messages from trolls, Claudia then added: "I really wanted to do a fun Q&A today, but I'm going to have to take a little breather from it all as I'm not coping very well with seeing stuff like this.

"Thank you for the continued support for the ones showing love, you are all angels, but understandably I'll be logging off from managing the account for a little bit."
