Love Island's Paige Thorne responds to Dami romance rumours as she says she 'loves him'

Speculation has swirled about Paige Thorne and Dami Hope ever since Love Island fans noticed the chemistry between the pair - despite being coupled up with other Islanders.

And Paige has finally addressed the rumours, gushing that she "loves him" but that he's a friend.

Last night, viewers watched as Paige and Adam became the last Islanders to be dumped from the villa.

On Friday, each of the couples had to vote for the two pairs they believed were the least compatible. Dami and Indiyah were the only couple not to receive any votes, so weren't up for the public vote.

Paige and Adam received the few votes, so were kicked out just a day before the final.

Appearing on Aftersun last night, Paige was quizzed on her "close" friendship with Dami during her stay.

Asked if Adam had never walked in, would Dami have had a shot, she replied: "Oh my god? Could you imagine?! Not at all!

"Not at all! This boy in Casa… no! We can stay friends… I love him! But no!"

During his stay in Casa Amor, Dami failed to stay loyal to Indiyah as he enjoyed three-way kisses, snuggling and kissing in bed - and then even recoupled with new girl Summer.

Fans have spotted that the pair appeared to be particularly close - especially when Paige chose to propose to Dami during Snog, Marry, Avoid.

"I chose to marry Dami because he’s my absolute best friend and we just have the best time together," she said, prompting Dami to brand it "the happiest moment of the game" for himself.

Later on, Paige was also revealed to have got Dami's heart racing the most during the sexy dancing challenge.

However, she's also shared that she's keen for Dami and Indiyah to win the show, saying: "There is a fair chance for them all to win but I’m rooting for Damiyah. Honestly they are both such genuine, down to earth people with such hearts of gold. They are so good together. They bounce off each other so well."

*Love Island final airs tonight at 9pm on ITV2
