Love Island's Olivia Bowen didn't want anyone to see her baby for months after birth

Olivia Bowen has admitted that she didn't want anyone to see her baby for months after she gave birth.

The former Love Island star, welcomed her baby boy, Abel Jacob, with husband Alex back in June.

The lovebirds, who met on the ITV dating show back in 2016, welcomed their baby son this summer after keeping the sex a surprise throughout Olivia's pregnancy.

While Olivia is in the full swing of motherhood now, after surprising herself with her maternal instincts, the former reality TV star endured quite a difficult time after giving birth to her baby Abel.

The new mum found herself shying away from showing her newborn baby on social media amid a crippling and sudden battle with anxiety and self-doubt after the difficult delivery of Abel.

Looking back on the early days of her motherhood journey after giving birth back in June, Olivia told New Magazine that she felt 'trapped' and anxiety-ridden when it came to posting about her son on social media.

"I had awful anxiety when I first came out of hospital. I'd had quite a difficult birth so I was in quite a lot of pain, and I was worrying so much about every little thing. I know this is really normal after you've given birth, but I didn't even want anybody to see him for the first few months.

"And I wouldn't want people holding him. That's why we didn't post much about him in the beginning because we had so many worries about his face being out there.

"Since then, I've been so busy that I haven't had time to worry, which has meant my anxiety is under control.

"Abel has just brought so much joy into our life. Yes, he's made it slightly more difficult in some ways, but it's worth every moment."

During the candid interview, Olivia also admitted that what surprised her the most about becoming a mother is how maternal she actually is after 'never really wanting' to have children.

Olivia explained that she had never made plans to have children or to become a mother, but she's surprised herself with how quickly she has adapted to motherhood.
