Love Island's Laura Anderson's rocky love life from Dane Bowers IVF to Gary Lucy baby

As far as the search for true love goes, Laura Anderson's ride has been a tumultuous one.

From suffering a heartbreak-inspired meltdown on Love Island, to failed IVF and a penchant for men with monogamy issues, she's been through the wringer.

After immediately coupling up with Wes Nelson on Love Island, he shocked Laura, 33, - and everyone else - by having his head turned stripper Megan Barton Hanson.

"He was happy, but could he be happier?" were his now infamous words as he brutally told his Day One love that he planned to crack on with bombshell Megan, just days after telling Laura he was 'falling' for her.

And refusing to be second best, Laura ended things with Wes.

The broken-hearted air hostess was so gutted that she ran away from the villa and spent the night in the beach hut chain-smoking her way through 20 cigarettes.

But her agony wasn't over. The Scot then got savagely dumped for a second time by Jack Fowler after Wes - of all people - egged him on to get with bombshell Laura Crane.

Sitting her down in the exact same spot in the villa that she split from Wes, Jack told her: "It's so frustrating because it's what I feel - I cant control how I feel, as much as I really want it to work.

"For me outside the villa I can't see it working."

She eventually coupled up with Paul Knops and they came second on the show, but that ended bitterly when an ex of Paul's claimed she'd been waiting for him in New York all along.

Then came Katie Price's ex, Dane Bowers.

It turned out that Laura and Dane - of Victoria Beckham Out Of Your Mind fame - had been casually seeing each other in 2017 while the cabin crew steward was living in Dubai.

But she called things off after finding out that she wasn't the only one on his rota.

"We were dating for six months when I found out he was seeing someone else," she explained. "We weren’t in a relationship at that point, and we never said we were exclusive, but I was disappointed, so I confronted him and ended it."

She entered Love Island on the back of the split, but turned to Dane for support following her painful breakup from Paul Knops.

Friendship bloomed and they ended up getting back together in 2021.

"I never thought I'd be able to trust Dane again, but I trust him more than anyone I've ever been with – even people who haven't cheated," she told The Sun.

The two quickly got serious and she moved to Dubai to be with him as they announced plans to take the next steps in their relationship.

"We've looked at engagement rings and we're trying to have a baby, but it can take ages to conceive," Laura added.

Dane, 43, also spoke of his love for the Love Island babe, insisting he had finally found 'The One'.

He told new! magazine: "I probably should have grown up before now, being in my forties. There's been a shift in deciding to live with each other.

"This is it. This is proper. This is the one."

He added: "I never gave my all [in previous relationships] so I don't know if I was totally in love. Which is quite sad really... going through life and not being in love."

Speaking on Vicky Pattison's podcast at the end of 2021, Laura revealed she had come off the pill to try and get pregnant, but admitted it was proving difficult and that Dane wanted to turn to fertility treatment.

She told the former Geordie Shore star: "Dane's like, 'we need to do IVF', and I'm like, 'I don't really want to'. I just never really thought that this would have to happen to me."

And in May last year, Laura revealed that they had come up against a 'few obstacles' and had decided to freeze her eggs while Dane took medication to improve his sperm.

"We're just super excited," she said. "I was a little apprehensive to share this and initially to do IVF but I feel really lucky to have the opportunity to do this in this day and age."

But just two months later, it was all over, with Laura telling her Instagram followers they'd realised they simply weren't compatible.

"Sadly we're just not right for each other but I do wish him nothing but love," she said.

"I will be moving back to the UK as soon as I can.

"Roll on the rest of 2022, let's make it count."

And make it count she did.

That same month she signed up for Channel 4's Celebs Go Dating, where she fell for former Hollyoaks star Gary Lucy, 41.

Admitting she used to watch him in Noughties' drama, Footballers' Wives, Laura hailed him a 'gentleman' and said she was "the happiest I've been in a long time."

But Laura sparked split rumours just weeks ago when she suddenly deleted all trace of the EastEnders star from her Instagram account and told how she had been going through a 'difficult time'.

"I know I've been quiet on here and not myself this week or so," she said.

"I'm going through a very difficult time, I actually don't think I've ever felt so stressed in my life.

"As we know Instagram isn't real life but over sharing negativity has never been something I like doing. Anyway my thought of the day for us all is - never lose yourself or your voice."

However, today she confirmed that she's pregnant with Gary's child, with their little bundle of joy due in August - meaning they conceived in November.

Laura shared a series of pictures of her and Gary posing with her bump at Christmas, and of a onesie emblazoned with, "The One Where We Become Parents" in a nod to Friends.

Sharing her happy news, she gushed that their 'hearts are full' - although Gary confirmed that they remain separated and will be raising their child as co-parents.

"I love Laura but we are no longer together," father-of-four Gary told The Sun.

My main drive as always is to work together to co-parent our child. I look forward to the arrival of the new baby."
