Love Island's Jack Fincham shares biggest career mistake after booze-fuelled night out

Jack Fincham had it all after appearing on Love Island – the brand deals, personal appearances and TV shows but he's now shared his biggest regret.

The former pen salesman, 32, appeared on the programme back in 2018 alongside the likes of Laura Anderson, Megan Barton Hanson and his now ex-girlfriend, Dani Dyer.

During his time on the programme, he and Dyer sailed through to the final and were eventually crowned the winners on Day 59 but eventually separated on April 3, 2019.

While he may have been a big name in the reality world, Jack has now confessed that his actions almost cost him his job on This Morning after a booze-fuelled night.

On his biggest regret, he said: "Not turning up for This Morning, which is like the holy grail of ITV. I'm still forever sorry for that. I went out and I didn’t wake up and it’s my own fault. I was working and I was having such a brilliant time doing the competitions with Andy Peters, having a whale of a time going all over Europe doing live tele.

"I was loving it. Instead of people coming up to me saying Love Island, they'd say loved your competition the other day. Because it was me doing work and not just being filmed, I took right pride in it."

Discussing his actions on the Calm Against Living Miserably podcast, he explained: "I went out after the Celebs Go Dating wrap party, we went out to celebrate the end of the series. Me – idiot – gone out drinking and didn’t wake up, woke up to missed calls.

"The call time was 5am and I've gone to bed drunk and obviously not set my alarm, woke to loads of missed calls and it was 8 or 9 by the time I've got up so the slot has gone, and I remember they were just so angry." Jack went on to say that he was "so apologetic" but stated that his actions had "messed a lot of things up" and he's still attempting to get back into ITVs good books.

"It has impacted so much, but I’m a different person today and I think so much more. I've always only ever learned the hard way, unfortunately," he added.

Jack was set to appear alongside former hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes who were tasked with interviewing the former Love Island star as well as Lauren Goodger but the pair failed to turn up. In a direct plea, Ruth said: "If you're watching guys. Where are you? What are you doing?"

But less than 24 hours after he missed his interview, Jack took to Twitter to explain his absence as he said: "I wanted to apologise to everyone @thismorning & the viewers for my no show yesterday. I won't make excuses. I got over-excited at the late-night filming of the CGD wrap party and obviously regret that now. So sorry once again & hope I get the chance to make it up to everyone."
