Love Island's Iain Stirling makes Glasgow dig as comedian reveals his 'favourite cocktail'

Iain Stirling has taken a cheeky swipe at Glasgow during his Love Island voice over duties.

The voice of much loved ITV2 reality show couldn't help but take a jibe at Glasgow during Tuesday night's episode. The comment was made as the islanders sat down in the kitchen to discuss their favourite cocktail. Getting some well needed shade from the South African sun, the contestants opted for drinks such as a Pornstar Martini.

But Iain Stirling was quick to make his 'favourite' alcohol beverage known, giving a nod to Glasgow while doing so. The comedian joked: "Everyone's got their favourite martini. Mine is a Glasgow Martini. It's martini, whiskey, vodka, gin and special brew".

The boozy concoction sounds less than appealing, with an alcoholic percentage that is pretty unthinkable.

But some viewers are seemingly keen to give it a go, with one taking to social media to say: "Never mind that, I want to try that Glasgow Martini lol".

The Edinburgh-born comic makes the show for many viewers, with his commentary and one liners providing laughs every episode.

Following the gag, one fan tweeted: "Iain Stirling is hilarious and love island would not be nearly as good without him".

Another asked: "Can we get a behind the scene doc about how the editors cut together episodes of Love Island? How long does Iain Stirling get to come up with those jokes? Do people help him? Cause that s**t must be so hard."

The ninth season of Love Island is currently ongoing. It is just the second time the reality show has travelled to South Africa for a winter series. You can catch up with all the episodes so far, as well as all the previous seasons, on ITVX.
