Love Island's Iain Stirling is told Doncaster is in Scotland following comedy night success there

Love Island's Iain Stirling couldn't believe it when he was told Doncaster is in Scotland following the success of his comedy night there.

The Edinburgh born comedian played a packed house at Doncaster's The Cast Theatre venue and admitted it was 'gorgeous'.

Iain received a very warm reception and received a note later from some fans who thought they'd explain why.

They wrote: "Hi Iain we've been to your gig tonight in Doncaster. We had a great time. Well done. Brilliant show.

"I just want to let you know that technically Doncaster is owned by Scotland.

"The town was ceded to Scotland in the Treaty of Durham and was never actually returned to England.

M"aybe this is why we get your jokes. Thanks for a great evening! Safe journey onwards."

Iain replied: "It all makes so much sense. Thank-you Doncaster, loved that."

Iain also showed off some of his latest dance moves in a video with his Love Island presenter wife Laura Whitmore.

The two were sent Squid Game tracksuits and decided to dance to a mash up of the Red Light Green light game from the hit Netflix series.

Iain admitted: "She refuses to watch the show. But she will absolutely learn the dance. #squidgame "
