Love Island's Haris Namani breaks silence on 'brawl' video after being dumped from the villa

Love Island star Haris Namani has spoken out for the first time since being dumped from the villa. Upon leaving the 2023 series, the 21-year-old salesman from Doncaster discussed a shocking viral video which appears to show the ITV star in an ugly street brawl.

Earlier this week, The Mirror reported how footage had emerged of Haris allegedly landing a punch on an unnamed man as they faced off in the street. ITV have yet to comment on the scenes. "I'm devastated that this video has been seen, it's not a reflection of my character," Haris said in response to reports of the footage.

"I'm not someone that goes looking for fights and I didn't want to be in that situation. This was a heat of the moment thing. The video doesn't show everything that happened."

Haris then added: "Afterwards we met up and we cleared the air; we've shaken hands and we get along now. It's not something that would happen again."

Haris was originally coupled up with Welsh Islander Anna-May Robey on the show but they ultimately decided that they’d be better as friends. He then set his sights on Olivia Hawkins but the pair didn't have a chance to explore their relationship as Haris was dumped alongside Anna-May in a surprise double dumping.

The pair exited the show following a public vote which made six contestants vulnerable, including Tom Clare, Kai Fagan, Tanyel Raven and Tanya Mahenga. It was then up to Australian bombshells and newcomers Jessie Wynter and Aaron Waters to decide who goes.

At the firepit, Jessie said: "We had to base our decision on who we think has the most potential to continue to grow and develop. And we personally think these two people have had a lot of opportunity but we don't know how much further they can go."

She revealed: "The Islanders we have decided we are sending home tonight, I'm so sorry, are Anna-May and Haris." You can read more on this here.
