Love Island's Demi Jones treated herself to a butterfly tattoo after her overcoming her battle with cancer.
The 23-year-old apologised to her mum before she got inked in Ibiza with her best pal.
She shared a video of the tattoo artist drawing a tiny butterfly on her ankle.
"With the best of the best.. fine line tattoo day with @tinytattooibiza"
"Sorry mum but she's amazing!"
"Excuse the tan, but I got a little (butterfly emoji) on my ankle to represent my Thyroid Cancer," she wrote on her story.
Her friend also joined her and got a little heart on her bum.
"Bestie got a little heart," she wrote with a red heart emoji.
The duo also shared their collection of snacks that they had stocked up on as they headed back to the airport.
Demi was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in May 2021.
It is a rare type of cancer which affects a small gland at the base of the neck that produces hormones.
According to the NHS it is most common in people in their 30s and those over the age of 60. Women are two to three times more likely to develop it than men.
Thyroid cancer is usually treatable and in many cases can be cured completely, although it can sometimes come back after treatment.
Symptoms include a painless lump or swelling in the front of the neck – although the health service stresses that only 1 in 20 neck lumps are cancer.
Swollen glands, unexplained hoarseness, a sore throat that doesn't go away and difficulty swallowing are all symptoms.
In December she shared the happy news with fans that she was cancer free following her treatment.
Sharing a photo of her posing beside the Queen Alexandra Hospital sign, she wrote: I’M CANCER FREE!!!! I did it! I got my full body scan results back and there’s not a single cancer cell left in my body.
"It’s been such a difficult year mentally and physically for me with my surgeries and treatment but I’m beyond grateful for everyone’s kindness and support over this past year.
