Love Island newcomer Chuggs has revealed the sweet meaning being his nickname and admitted to viewers that he is actually called Oliver.
The 23-year-old business owner, who hails from Surrey, whisked Sharon Gaffka on a date on Thursday evening after viewers voted for them to get to know each other.
During a fancy sit-down meal, the duo swiftly turned onto the topic of Chuggs' unusual moniker before the hunk explained the backstory.
Chatting to Sharon on their date, Chuggs explained that the name stood for 'cuddles and hugs.'
"So it is my nickname, Chuggs, like a baby name 'cuddles and hugs'... my Christian name is Oliver," he told Sharon during the outing.

Naturally, the revelation caused quite a reaction as fans shared their thoughts behind the meaning of his name on social media. Some even suggested that he wasn't being truthful about the meaning of the name.
"Honestly chuggs was bad and then the reasoning," wrote one viewer.
Another added: "Was expecting him to say he downed a bottle of Smirnoff Ice at a frat party or something."
A third suggested: "the funniest thing is that chuggs is NOT an abbreviation of cuddles and hugs its 100% because he's mad for drinking."
Chuggs, who actually appeared to know fellow contestant Hugo Hammond before entering the villa, is a party-loving bucket hat salesman. It seems like he isn't planning to waste any time after seeing his lifestyle impacted by the coronavirus pandemic and before entering the villa said he had his eye on Brummie babe Liberty and fiesty Faye.
"Half of my last year of uni was taken away and we had so many fun plans," he said prior to entering the popular dating show.
"With Covid and the pandemic, I feel like I've missed a year of my youth, so I'm really gagging to get it all back - make the most of it."
Aside from Chuggs and Sharon's first encounter, fellow Love Islander Faye Winter also got to know newcomer Liam Reardon from Wales during the date night.
After not having much luck in the house with her current partner Brad McClelland, it seems like Faye is thrilled to get to know the bricklayer and walked into the villa holding his hand.

As always, it has been quite an eventual episode of Love Island as the contestants get to know each other even more.
During tonight's show, Chloe began to question whether she was really into Brad, while it was also revealed that Aaron and Sharon had shared a secret kiss on the balcony.
The two newcomers are certainly set to cause a stir in the villa after it was revealed that the girls will have the power to couple up with a man of their choice in the next episode.
