Love Islander Camilla Thurlow tells the Mirror about her second pregnancy, the secret to making things work and the power of little changes in life.
Hi Camilla, how is your pregnancy going?
Good. There’s a difference between this and my first pregnancy – for the majority of the first pregnancy we were in lockdown, so I’m a bit more on the go this time and I have a toddler to run after.
Is Nell looking forward to being a big sister?
She will be the most amazing big sister, but I don’t think she’ll necessarily fully understand until the new baby is here.
You and Jamie are one of Love Island’s successful couples. What’s the key to your relationship?
Luck! Relationships change over time but we’re so happy and content at the moment. We’ve both been incredibly fortunate – we have a wonderful daughter and another baby on the way, and I don’t think we could be more grateful for everything that meeting each other [in 2017’s series 3] has brought.
You’ve kept very true to yourself and the work you did as a bomb disposal expert before Love Island...
The work I did before the show was always really important to me. And equally since Love Island, there have been various things that I’ve had the opportunity to do that have really aligned with my personal goals.
Something like the Ecover Refillution campaign is so nice to be a part of, because learning about options like refilling aligns perfectly with what I’d be trying to do within my lifestyle.
I feel really, really lucky to have those opportunities.
What’s important to you personally?
Obviously as a mum I want to be doing my bit to reduce the negative impact on the environment because it’s for future generations.
We’ve all got such busy lifestyles and it’s trying to find switches so you can make little changes that actually do make a big difference.
