Love Island's Amy Hart reveals how villa diet made her put on half a stone in 4 weeks

Amy Hart has been spilling the tea on what really happens in the Love Island villa - revealing how the lavish spreads and buffet style catering saw her gain almost half a stone during her stint on the show.

The former Islander, 29, told her fans how she treated meal times like an "all inclusive buffet" - eating chips every single day - and explained why Love Island contestants are never filmed eating on the ITV2 show.

Amy appeared on the dating show back in 2019, with some of her scenes with one-time boyfriend Curtis Pritchard still the subject of hilarious memes three years on.

Speaking to her TikTok followers on Wednesday, the former air hostess answered a few questions about what it's like behind the scenes on the reality TV show, following the ITV2 show returning to our screens on Monday night.

Answering a question asking what she and her villa housemates had for dinner and breakfast, Amy said: "Breakfast we made ourselves. Lunch and dinner were brought in - they were made by a catering team off-site and they brought it in.

"I treated it a bit like an all inclusive buffet. So I would have curry and rice, then wash my plate off, then have the pasta and sauce, wash my plate off and then have cheesecake!

"And that's why I put on 3 kilos during my time in the villa. Fun times!"

Amy then went on to reveal just why you never see Islanders enjoying a meal together on Love Island and just what got discussed around the dinner table.

"There is so much stuff that doesn't make it into the main show anyway, you wouldn't want to see us eating as it's boring" the reality TV star confessed to her fans.

"You don't have to eat in silence but you can't talk about anything to do with the villa or anything - it's what they call 's*** chat'.

"So it was like, you could talk about maybe people you may mutually know on the outside, or Instagram, or just boring stuff that they wouldn't want to show."

The star concluded by revealing "there was chips every single day and I ate them every single day".

Amy's stint in the villa three years ago saw her leave heartbroken, after splitting from dancer Curtis and heading home on Day 37.

The blonde beauty's love life on the outside world has been far more successful, with the star happily coupled up with boyfriend Sam Rason, 33.

Earlier this week, Amy admitted she know her current beau was marriage material after just two dates with the model last year.

The loved-up pair went public with their romance in 2021 - with Amy giving Sam a key to her house after just two months together.

"My family, we are very impulsive people. My mom and dad got engaged after eight weeks, got married within a year, had a baby the following year... So everyone is like, "He's nice, marry him'," Amy confessed to OK! magazine in a joint interview with her boyfriend.

The reality TV star went on to admit wedding and babies have been discussed - with Amy hopeful she will tie the knot before falling pregnant.

"I'd love to get married first, just because I think then you can be truly selfish with your wedding if you get married first. Once you have children, all your priorities change," she mused during her recent chat.

"I'd love to get married next year."
