Love Island reveals huge twist ahead of launch show as fans get to pick the bombshells

Love Island fans will get the chance to vote for the first bombshell to enter the villa in a show first.

The ITV2 show is returning for its winter edition in a few days and fans are already eager to meet the new contestants, with the first lot of hopefuls having been revealed already. However, as always with the popular show, there's a twist ahead and this series, viewers will get a chance to choose what bombshell they want to send into the villa for the first time.

Viewers can choose between 25-year-old Ellie Spence, a Business Development Executive at a law firm from Norwich, or Tom Clare, a 23-year-old semi-pro footballer from Barnsley, who will then enter the villa as a bombshell.

Voting for the bombshell opened at 8am today and can be done via the Love Island App. The bombshell which receives the highest number of votes will be chosen to enter the villa. Voting will close at 9pm on Friday 13th January.

Ellie is looking for a husband on the show after a "dry" few years.

"I’ve been single for three years and the roster is pretty dry, it’s been dry for the last year, I don’t know what happened, it’s just not been a great time for me so I’m ready to find my husband," she said.

Tom equally wants to find the one who he can envision a future with, adding: "Since my ex, no-one’s really come to me and I’ve thought, ‘Wow’. Until I have that, I’m not going to settle for less. Not in a bad way, but the next person I get with, I want to marry."

"I want to meet someone. It’s good going out and having a laugh but I miss sharing stuff. Life’s too short. These opportunities don’t come around often. I’m a good laugh, a good vibe. I’m not snakey, I don’t like that kind of stuff."

Ellie, meanwhile, thinks she's single because she falls out of love too quickly.

"I’m single because I fall in love really quick, but I fall out of it just as quickly. I could literally fall in love with a chair and then a week later be like, ‘Oh wait, no, that's a chair…’ I fall in love quickly because I build up a character of someone in my head and then they breathe in the wrong direction and I’m like, ‘Next!'" she said.

Tom added: "I might like someone quite fast, but I wouldn’t say I fall in love quickly."
