Love Island catch-up: Amber and Danny clash over Arabella kiss and three other talking points

Love Island continued tonight with an episode filled to the brim with arguments.

The fallout of last night's episode made for an entertaining hour of television, as Amber and Anna dealt with the departure of their friend, Yewande.

It was Danny who sent the islander packing having chosen to recouple with Arabella despite knowing her for just a couple of days.

Here are the biggest talking points from tonight's fallout episode.

Amber wages war

Last night, Danny chose to couple up with new arrival Arabella, meaning Yewande – who has been in the villa since day one – was dumped from the island. Amber, to put it lightly, did not take the decision well. "He's known the girl two days," she said, fuming. "What does that say about your character?" Anna wasn't best pleased either – "I do not wanna f**king see his face" – but it was Amber who caused the biggest ruckus, particularly after Danny and Arabella publicly kissed just hours after Yewande's departure.

Eventually, the matter was put to bed by Arabella, who announced, "Let's just all get on and move forward." Good luck with that.

Tom expresses doubts over Maura

Despite spending most of last episode grovelling to Maura after making a horribly disrespectful comment – "It'll be interesting to see if she's all mouth" – Tom has now decided that Maura "doesn't tick all my boxes". Given the length of the list he proceeded to rattle off, detailing everything he thought was wrong with her, it seems as though maybe she doesn't tick any at all. Which will prove to be a mistake, given that Maura is fast becoming this series' saving grace and a fan favourite.

Arabella and Danny have their first kiss

Funnily enough, it did not go down well.

Tommy and Curtis

Yesterday, there was much discussion about whether this series of Love Island was rife with toxic masculinity. But if it is, there was a brief respite from that tonight in the form of Tommy and Curtis' declaration of love and admiration for one another. "I haven't met someone like you before." Naww.

Catch up with all the action from tonight’s episode as it unfolded below.

Good evening, and welcome to tonight's Love Island live blog. After last night's Maura and Tom-related drama, we as a country are surely crossing our fingers that this will become a reality:

In case you missed the drama: Maura picked Tom for a night in the Hideaway. Tom managed to completely ruin it for himself in the space of five seconds by saying to the guys, in earshot of Maura, "It'll be interesting to see if she's all mouth." Maura refused to be disrespected. Maura told Tom where to go. Maura explained that talking openly about sex does not mean that you should be expected to put out. Maura is quickly becoming a national treasure.
As Caitlin Moran put it:

Meanwhile, Curtis and Amy are still attempting to be this year's Jack and Dani – i.e. become the season's only steadfast couple, breeze through the competition and sweep up the cash prize – but something isn't quite clicking, in my humble opinion.
Oh, and there was a re-coupling, too. In a move that shocked absolutely nobody, Danny – who's quickly becoming the villain of the series in my eyes – wrangled Yewande into letting down her emotional barriers, took one look at hot new girl Arabella, and dropped Yewande like a hot potato.
Because eternal bachelor Anton chose to save Lucie, that meant Yewande was dumped from the island. A grave injustice.

"Categorically, you've done nothing wrong," says Tom to Danny. If Tom is saying that, then Danny has definitely done something wrong.
Maura on Danny picking Arabella over Anton: "What are they gonna do, mope around? You have to get over it."
Maura should probably have punished Tom for at least five more weeks for "all mouth" gate, but each to their own
It looked for one horrible moment as though "bevy" was going to be the word of the series, but it is, in fact, "connection"

"The last thing I would do is create a problem," says Amber. Not entirely convincing.

Arabella: "Let's just put this to bed, all get on and move forward. Yay!" Something tells me that isn't going to happen...
"Or 69 times a day." I see what they did there...
After hugely disrespecting Maura, and being forgiven, Tom has just announced that he's not that into her after all. "Between you and me" – and the entire British nation – "she doesn't tick all my boxes."
"I believe life is a test and love is a prize." The adorable thing is that Tommy genuinely thinks that's extremely profound.
