Love Island issues important message to viewers ahead of new season

Love Island bosses issued an important message to fans ahead of them unveiling their first Islander of 2021.

The popular ITV2 dating show will make its return to screens next Monday, June 28, and are revealing their new crop of singletons throughout today (June 21).

It is the first summer series to air since 2019 after it was cancelled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Laura Whitmore is returning as host alongside husband Iain Stirling who is Love Island's much-loved narrator.

But ahead of the first Islander reveal, a message was shared to the show's social media pages.

"Who's ready for a summer full of love? #LoveIsland," they asked in a tweet with a picture attached.

The text on the image read: "You've got a text!

"These Islanders are all single and ready to find love. We can't wait to watch them get to know each other, date and maybe even find the one.

"We're so grateful they're letting us follow their journey this summer. We hope you enjoy the show, but please think before you post."

And the first person to be revealed is 25-year-old Sharon Gaffka from Oxford.

Sharon is a Civil Servant (Operations Lead for Department of Transport) who says she has "been doing Brexit policy for the last year" before working in the Department of Health during the Coronavirus pandemic in the Department of Health.

She says that it has been a "running joke" among her friends that she should apply for the show and as the only single person in her friendship group, decided to go for it.

Aaron Francis, a 24-year-old luxury events host, is the second Islander to be revealed.

He says he has worked both Princess Eugenie and Beatrice’s weddings over the summer and says he meets a lot of famous people in the course of his job.

And fans are just buzzing for it to start.

"YAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSS! 2021 IS JUST GETTING BETTER," tweeted one.

Another said: "it’s about TIMEEE."

"Borderline embarrassing how excited I am for this," a third added.
