Love Island hunk Kai Fagan's mum says 'maneater' Tanyel Revan 'seems like a lovely girl'

The mum of hunk Kai Fagan hopes his Love Island girlfriend is hungry – and not just for her son.

Hair stylist Tanyel Revan, 26, has been dubbed a Love Island maneater and she has admitted she can’t bite her tongue.

But Kai’s mum Jill, 45, is just as interested in Tanyel’s desire to sink her teeth into a Sunday roast after the show is over.

Jill has given her 24-year-old son’s fiery love the thumbs up.

And the 45-year-old said she’s a sweetie, adding: “Tanyel seems like a lovely girl. Kai definitely looks smitten with her.

“Kai is a very good judge of character, and I think she will keep him on his toes, which isn’t a bad thing. They look good together.”

Earlier this week Manchester-born PE teacher Kai, who went to secondary school with Manchester United ace Marcus Rashford, 25, cooled things with payroll assistant Anna-May Robey, 20, to pursue Tanyel, who he partnered with first on the ITV2 show.

Anna-May has left the villa. Since the recoupling Kai and Tanyel have gone from strength to strength, sharing kisses and a bed.

Jill said: “We are a very close family and enjoy spending mealtimes together, especially Sunday as we are all together.

“Kai will never miss his stepdad’s Sunday roasts. I just hope Tanyel has a big appetite.”

Jill is loving watching her boy but is not enjoying his language.

She laughed: “Nothing ever surprises me with Kai, however I have never heard him swear before. It sounds strange hearing it. He even tells off his friends if they swear in front of me. It doesn’t bother me, I think he just does it out of respect.

“I do think Kai is presenting himself really well, he is showing what a really loyal and caring person he is. He looks like he is getting on really with all of the islanders and building great relationships with both the boys and the girls.”

Kai, who played rugby sevens for Jamaica, described himself as “chilled, caring, very impulsive and a good guy” who always puts his “friends and family first”.

He said he had been “single by choice” for two years and was looking for the right girl in the villa.

He also wanted to inspire kids from broken homes watching Love Island after his own parents split when he was a child.

Jill said: “Kai is very laid-back at home and likes to avoid drama. He likes to be a bit of a joker, which I think we will see more of I’m sure. My best relationship advice to Kai is to be honest, and not to be afraid to let his guard down if the feeling is right. And have fun, when it stops being fun, it’s not meant to be.”

Her message to him is: “Carry on being yourself, you make me beam with pride when I see you, we all miss you very much, I love you.”

Kai quit his teaching job to join this year’s Love Island hopefuls in South Africa.

He said he has the backing of his ex-pupils and colleagues – who encouraged him to go on the show. Jill said: “I have been reading a few social media posts of his students. They are all shocked but very excited to see him on the show.

“I did get a few messages from the parents saying he is a great teacher and they’re all rooting for him, which was lovely to receive.”
