Love Island host Laura Whitmore would 'never go on the show as contestant'

Love Island host Laura Whitmore says she would never go on the show as a contestant - as she's too body conscious.

Laura who took over the role of host replacing the late presenter Caroline Flack, says she would never have applied to go on the show when she was younger.

Discussing nudity with Russell Kane for the podcast Man Baggage she said: "I'm not against nudist beaches. I just don't want to be naked in front of anyone except my partner but that's just me personally.

"I'm just too self conscious, I know nobody would be looking at me but I'm too self conscious.

"I remember somebody asking me if I'd ever have gone on Love Island when I was younger and I remember saying, 'I wish I had that confidence'."

"I just don't have that confidence to be in a bikini, like 24 hours a day, and be watched from every angle."

"I was too self conscious, about my skin, my body, everything. I wish I was confident like you Russell to be naked."

She later told fans on her Instagram: 'I wish I was as confident as the islanders (and Russell) in my younger years.

"Had the best chats with two of my favourite comedians on @russell_kane ‘s podcast me and @stephencomedy are no stranger to a zoom call but this one we recorded! Podcast out today."
