Love Island first look sees girls and boys head into the villa joined by Laura Whitmore

Love Island have teased fans with a first look at the new series - as the boys and girls head into the villa.

The ITV2 show kicks off Monday evening at 9pm, and in first look pictures, host Laura Whitmore joins the girls in the villa as ITV's summer of love kicks off with an exciting new twist.

It's already been revealed by narrator Iain Stirling that this year, the public will decide who they want each of the Islanders to couple up with first rather than them let make the decision.

The new pictures prove it's going to be an exciting summer for both the Islanders and us at home.

Here, the couples lay their eyes on each other for the very first time - and find out who they're paired with.

"I'm coming at you right now with a big fat exclusive! We're mixing things up this year, can I tell ya?" Iain explained.

"This year, for the first year ever, we want you guys at home to play Cupid and you will have your say on which boy couples up with which girl. It's a fantastic poll where you get to decide who's getting coupled up with who!

"I feel like the viewers at home, yeah you get to look at all the Islanders and get a vibe and see who you think suits to who... or maybe who isn't suited to who, and put them together and watch the fireworks fly!"

And The Mirror exclusively revealed that Love Island bosses already know who they want to win, and they have been busy spending months matchmaking to ensure as many people find love as possible.

Executive Producer Mike Spencer explained: "It's really exciting, fun people in the mix.

"But most importantly, we've worked really hard, we think, to match-make this year. I'm hoping that I mean, I won't make any predictions, but I'm hoping that there’s someone for everyone. I think we’ve done well with types."

He added: "It's hard to tell though, obviously until you first meet someone you never know if you're going to be attracted to them. But I think we've got a good group of people and I know we’ve ticked off their types in the mix."

*Love Island returns to screen for its new series Monday June 6 at 9pm on ITV2.
