Love Island fans 'praying' for a 'real folk cast' after 'fake' influencers take over

Love Island fans have revealed they are 'praying' that this year's show will include a 'real folk' cast after the rumoured line-up was announced.

The popular ITV2 dating show is making a return on June 6 - meaning the countdown is on to see which sexy singletons will be gracing our screens for weeks on end.

We have seen the likes of Liberty Poole - formerly a Nando's waitress - and labourer Brad McClelland feature on the series.

However some viewers believe the number of "ordinary people" participating on the show has dwindled in the last couple of seasons, with the likes of influencers Molly-Mae and Mary Bedford joining the cast.

One person said they would like to see "Sandra from Asda and Dan from Spoons" on the show.

They shared: "Praying for a real folk cast, gimmie Sandra from Asda and Dan from spoons none of this ‘I’m a model’ ‘I’m an influencer’ crap."

Another wrote: "I need Tesco staff, BT engineers and Primark workers on this year's Love Island. The whole influencer/model thing is mad tired."

Someone else joked: "Send in a couple Zara employees for Casa Amor! Imagine the shade."

Another commented: "Agreed. Get a bloke on there who lives on his own and can't remember if he put the bins out."

A fourth added: "And a few curvy girls 16+"

However others are happy to watch the show regardless of the cast, with one sharing: "Love island in 3 weeks?? prepare to be sick of ME."

Another added: "2 more weeks till I’m tweeting about love island every night x"

The TV show is now only a couple of weeks away and the public have been curious about which singletons will be stepping into this year's villa.

Producers have decided to freshen things up with a brand new villa that will feature six bedrooms and the biggest gym that the series has ever seen.

It has also been reported that Casa Amor, the infamous part of the show that makes or breaks relationships, could be axed.

Ronan Keating's daughter, Michael Owen's daughter and Zara McDermott's brother are expected to take part in this year's series - although an official line-up has not been confirmed.

ITV declined to comment when approached by The Mirror.
