Louise Redknapp will always carry a flame for Jamie Redknapp and will be hurt by news he has already moved on and is preparing to father a new child without her, claims good friend Lizzie Cundy.
Last month, news broke that 47-year-old Jamie is expecting his third child – which will be his first with 37-year-old Swedish model Frida Andersson-Lourie who he has been dating for 18 months.
The pregnancy announcement came less than three years after the collapse of Jamie’s marriage to 46-year-old Louise – to whom he was married for 19 years and together has sons Charlie, 16, and 12-year-old Beau.
Fellow ex-Wag Lizzie knows better than most how Louise must be feeling as she herself saw a 20-year marriage to footballer Jason Cundy end in 2012 after they welcomed two sons together.
Jason also quickly moving on to marry another woman within three years of his divorce from Lizzie being finalised and he went on to father a third child with his new wife.
Speaking to Closer magazine, ageless babe Lizzie shared insight into her friend Louise’s thoughts and feelings.
She said: “Louise will feel shocked and her heart will be hurting.
“I burst into tears when Jason told me he was going o be a dad again. You know it’s over, but you’ve got your family together and you just on’t expect them to start another family elsewhere.”
Lizzie also thinks Louise will always hold Jamie in her heart after they endured a marriage across decades – but that the news he is to become a dad again could cause extra heartache.
She said: “Louise will always be in love with Jamie.
“It’s difficult when you’ve had almost 20 years together but, as time goes on, she will find someone else. It’s just going to be tough at the minute as everyone is talking about it.
“And if she found out via other people, that is bound to hurt, too.”
News broke last month that Jamie and Frida are expecting their first child together – with a source revealing: “Jamie and Frida are absolutely delighted.
"They’ve been virtually inseparable in lockdown, and their relationship has gone from strength to strength.
"The couple started telling their nearest and dearest last week. Jamie’s been telling pals he’s really excited to be a dad again — less excited about the sleepless nights, and nappy-changing."
It was subsequently reported that Louise “heard” about Jamie and Frida’s news “via family members” and not directly from her ex-husband himself.
