Louise Redknapp falls on stage at Pride but recovers like pro

Louise Redknapp took a nasty tumble while headlining Pride, but recovered like an absolute pro.

The formal Eternal member turned solo star was headlining Pride in Newcastle on Sunday, July 24, where she kicked off her set with one of her best known tracks, Naked, before turning the clock back with more of her 90s/early 00s solo hits, ChronicleLive reports.

Her performance gave a firm nod to her Eternal and it was when performing the girl group's hit, Just A Step from Heaven, when she tripped and fell flat on the stage, to audible gasps and 'oh my gods' from those fans near the front. Louise got an immediate applause and cheers as she quickly got back to her feet and joked: “I did that especially for all of you,” before adding: "I knew these shoes were going to cause me a problem!"

Her fall did not take away from her performance as she looked and sounded stunning, rounding things off with underrated pop anthem Arms Around the World. Taking to Instagram after, Louise posted a backstage phot of herself at the Town Moor and wrote: “Thank you Newcastle! It was so good to be back up north!

"Northern Pride you were amazing thanks for coming out, having a great time and singing along and luckily the sunshine came out in the end."

The bright sunshine of just a few days earlier was in short supply as the threatening grey clouds resulted in a huge downpour just as Joe McElderry took to the stage around 5pm. Thankfully the rain stopped during The X Factor winner’s set and by the time DJ Adele Roberts had finished her star turn, the sun made an appearance.
