Louis Saha has Ronaldo message for Marcus Rashford as Wout Weghorst to quit Burnley

Here are the latest headlines from around the Premier League on Friday, June 10.

Rashford told not to copy Ronaldo

Former Newcastle and Manchester United striker Louis Saha has urged Marcus Rashford not to try to copy Cristiano Ronaldo. Instead, the Frenchman believes Rashford should take inspiration from some of United's youngsters in order to revitalise his game.

Rashford endured a frustrating season for United, netting just five times and losing his place in the England squad. Having five-time Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo alongside him in the ranks might make the place to seek motivation seem obvious, but Saha would advise the 24-year-old differently.

"I think he's a terrific player, I love him," Saha told the PA news agency. "I don't really understand why this happened because this guy has got it all. "He's got all the quality, he's got speed, he's got arrogance, dribbling and can score goals.

"He needs to come back to basics and, it is strange what I'm going to say, but maybe not copy Cristiano Ronaldo, copy some of the other team-mates who are young. You need get back to the young Rashford, having that simplicity in his game and running players, not thinking about whatever the status that he had or he has been given by the press or his entourage. He has suffered a lot from that."

Weghorst says 'I'm off'

Wout Weghorst says he will not be at Burnley next season following the Clarets' relegation from the Premier League. The Holland striker only signed a three-and-a-half-year contract at Turf Moor in January, joining from Wolfsburg for a reported £12million fee.

Weghorst scored twice in 20 appearances as Burnley were relegated and the 29-year-old says he must leave, given his ambitions to make Holland's World Cup squad later this year.

"My future won't be next year in Burnley," Weghorst said. "I won't go into the Championship - not that I feel too good for it, absolutely not. I am just really ambitious and also for the squad of the national team.

"The trainer (Louis Van Gaal) wants us to play at a high level. There are some options for me and just a higher potential of a league than the Championship. I have to take the chances offered there. We will see what the future will bring."

Foden back for England

Phil Foden trained on the eve of England's Nations League clash with Italy after overcoming Covid-19 but Kalvin Phillips sat out the session. The 22-year-old Foden, recently crowned PFA Young Player of the Year, missed the fixtures in Hungary and Germany after testing positive for coronavirus.

Gareth Southgate had suggested Foden's availability for the Molineux double-header against Italy and Hungary was "doubtful" as his recovery was "a bit slow" but the Manchester City star trained with the group on Friday morning. The attacking midfielder rejoined the Three Lions on Wednesday after they returned from Munich, where Phillips was forced off following an early collision in the 1-1 draw with Germany.

Phillips sustained the impact injury in a challenge with Nico Schlotterbeck and was absent from the open section of training at St George's Park on Friday. Trent Alexander-Arnold left the camp following the draw with Germany as agreed after Liverpool's energy-sapping season went all the way. James Ward-Prowse looks in line to start against Euro 2020 final foes Italy on Saturday after the Football Association confirmed he will join manager Southgate in the pre-match press conference.
