Lotto agony for Irish punter as they come within one ball of scooping a million

One Lotto punter came within one ball of scooping a million and instead won €10,000 on Monday.

A Daily Million player in Swords in north Co. Dublin came away with €10,000 after matching five numbers and the bonus ball in Monday night’s 9pm Daily Million draw.

The winning ticket was sold in SuperValu in the Pavilions Shopping Centre in Swords, Co. Dublin.

The winning Daily Million numbers for last night’s 9pm draw were: 09, 10, 13, 33, 38, 39 and the bonus was 28.

And the lucky ticket holder is advised to sign the back of their ticket and check www.lottery.ie for details of their nearest An Post Prize Claim Centre where prizes up to €14,999 can be claimed.

This is the second big National Lottery win in Swords in the space of a week after another resident who bought their Quick Pick ticket at the Spar store in Applewood won the Lotto Match 5 + Bonus prize of €41,908 in last Wednesday’s €2.3 million Lotto draw.

It come as a shop in Co Galway confirmed that last Friday t's €500,000 winning EuroMillions Plus ticket was sold in their store.

The golden ticket for the life-changing top prize was sold in O'Toole's Supervalu in Tuam, Co Galway.

They wrote on Facebook: "Congratulations to the lucky winner who bought their ticket in our store."

Meanwhile there was no winner of the overall prize in the main EuroMillions draw which totalled a whopping €130 million.

However one lucky Galway punter was the only winner of the Plus draw, and will now take home a cool half-million to ease the pain of lockdown 3.0.
