Lost Budgie Budge Lightyear Found At UK Space Attraction

Bird named Budge Lightyear after it was found at space centre looking for owner

A lost budgie, affectionately named Budge Lightyear, was discovered at the National Space Centre in Leicester. The brightly colored yellow and green bird was found by a visitor and promptly rescued by RSPCA staff. The bird, affectionately called a 'feathered voyager,' was taken into care at the RSPCA's Woodside Animal Centre in Leicester.

The RSPCA suspects that Budge Lightyear is an escaped pet due to being ringed and numbered, but the owner's details are not registered. Animal rescue officer Ellie Grindod, who nicknamed the budgie, is urging anyone who recognizes Budge Lightyear to contact the charity.

Thanks to the quick action of everyone involved, Budge Lightyear is now safe at the Woodside Animal Centre receiving care and attention. The RSPCA emphasizes the importance of compassion in safeguarding our feathered friends, wherever they may roam.

Malika Andress from the National Space Centre expressed gratitude to the RSPCA for rescuing Budge Lightyear. Despite their expertise in various fields, looking after budgies is beyond their scope, and they appreciated the RSPCA's assistance.

If you believe Budge Lightyear is your pet, please contact the RSPCA at 0300 123 8018 to potentially reunite with this adventurous budgie.
