"Feeling unhealthy - need a kickstart in New Year. I’ve always said no to diets but any sensible suggestions?"
One fan, Ann, replied to her post as she said: "Eat smaller meals and walk more You look ok sweetie though!"
Lorraine replied back as she said: "I know Ann. As I’ve always said - it’s that simple but that hard! I’m OK but don’t feel healthy which as always been my priority. Thanks for your reply xxxx"
With multiple lockdowns over the last year, Lorraine was not alone in her lack of motivation and comfort eating as people were on the move less while everyone was stuck in.
Lots of other fans shared their own experiences and advice as the post received almost 1,500 replies.
Lorna said: "Aw hate that feeling. You are perfect just as you are! But if losing weight is your goal, create a small calorie deficit - 500 cals per day - and up your daily steps by 5k per day. Be consistent & you will see results. No need for any drastic or fad diets xx"
Eleanor said: "I too was feeling like that especially after the first lockdown #lorraine . I decided to join Slimming World over a year ago as I had the big 60 looming and now I've lost 4st and the only exercise I do is 2 wee walks a day with my dog as I have. Never mind Spring is round the corner."
Anne said: "You are not alone! I’ve been managing fine until last week, then dread of Christmas struck. It’s daft but I do it to myself - family say “ All you’re expected to do is cook a bigger than usual roast dinner! “ If only it was that simple! More exercise helps - I just have to start!"
