Lorraine Kelly's 1.5st weight loss secrets - including new diet with sweet snack

TV presenter Lorraine Kelly has wowed fans recently with her slimmer figure after announcing she'd lost a stone and a half and dropped two dress sizes.

The 62-year-old posted an incredible series of transformation pictures to Instagram this week - one of her eating pizza and drinking wine, and the other smiling as she posed in a tight pink dress - proclaiming "I can't believe both pictures are me!!"

Since lockdown, the star has been following a WW (formerly Weight Watchers) diet plan that still allows her to enjoy her favourite sweet treat - chocolate.

She told the Express how she had gained weight during lockdown, going from a size 10 to a 14, and was feeling unhappy about her appearance.

She said: "By the end of 2021, I’d put on a stone and a half and was a size 14."

She teamed up with the dieting company earlier this year in an attempt to kick some of the "'bad" eating habits she'd picked up during lockdown - such as snacking on chocolate every night before bed.

However, it doesn't mean she had to give up her favourite treat for good - WW plans focus on getting rid of fad diets and not having to give up on having fun.

She posted on Instagram on Tuesday: "The WW program has helped me create and stick to healthy habits.

"The app helps me track what I’m eating, how much sleep I’m getting and what exercise I’m doing, as well as making sure I drink enough water and giving me lots of delicious recipes to cook (or at least try haha!)"

With the help of her WW coach Suzie Stirling, Lorraine discovered how she could still enjoy her chocolate fix without piling on the pounds again.

Suzie said: "There is no such thing as 'good' or 'bad' food and nothing is off limits on the WW programme. Lorraine loves chocolate and had got into the habit of eating lots of it before bed.

"She didn’t want to give it up for good, so now she has a big bowl of fruit, such as berries, melon and mango, which she dips into a little pot of Weight Watchers Chocolate Spread."

The chocolate pots are only 71 calories per tablespoon - perfect for having with fruit whilst still getting a kick of sweetness.

Not only did Lorraine credit WW for helping her shed the unwanted weight, but she also says how much better she feels on the inside now that she's got the habits nailed down.

Taking to Instagram, she said: "The WW programme has helped me create and stick to healthy habits. The app helps me track what I'm eating, how much sleep I'm getting and what exercise I'm doing, as well as making sure I drink enough water and giving me lots of delicious recipes to cook (or at least try haha!). I feel happier and healthier."

She teamed up with WW earlier this year in a bid to build "more stamina" and live a healthier life, as well as getting back into her pre-pandemic clothes.
