Lorraine Kelly feels 'happier and healthier' after dropping two dress sizes

Lorraine Kelly shared a delighted snap after dropping 21lbs and meeting her weight loss goal.

The ITV presenter has gone from a size 14 to a size 10 after partnering with WW, formerly known as Weight Watchers, earlier this year. The 62-year-old broadcaster previously opened up about gaining weight in lockdown, and was sparked to drop a few pounds after losing her confidence, resulting in her missing events.

Speaking to the Mirror, Lorraine said: "During the pandemic I started comfort eating and that was my downfall – comfort eating and not being able to go to my fitness classes. When those classes stopped I started eating far too much – it was things that I would probably never bother with.

"Like I wanted muffins, I wanted croissants, I wanted doughnuts. All of these things that you know you shouldn’t be having and you think it’s making you feel better at the time and it doesn’t. And so slowly, slowly, slowly over the past couple of years, I’ve gone from a size 10 to a size 14…"

The turning point for Lorraine was when she realised she no longer wanted to go out and enjoy herself. She said: "If somebody said there was a big party, I’d think I don’t think I really want to go.

“I did go to a thing before Christmas in a black stretchy dress. There was nothing wrong with it but I didn’t feel fine. Only people in the same boat would probably get that.

"For me, joining WW is going to be about getting back into my clothes and feeling healthier and having more stamina." The TV presenter recently revealed to OK! Magazine that she can now fit back into her wedding dress from 30 years ago.

When asked about renewing her vows with Steve for their pearl wedding anniversary, she quipped: "Well, I could get into my wedding dress now… Maybe I should do this for our anniversary. Oh God, no! I think we’ll have a party but we wouldn’t have another ceremony. We’d giggle too much."

She told the publication: "I’ve certainly got my zest for life back. It’s improved my confidence massively. I feel like I can take on anything right now. I just got invited to this wonderful opera with my daughter and I probably wouldn’t have done that before, but now I’m going to everything and it feels fantastic.

"I am relishing these experiences. I went to the Baftas a few weeks ago and it’s the first time in a while I felt I could enjoy the evening and present an award without thinking, “Oh, I don’t feel nice,” or, “I can’t find anything to fit any more.”"
