Loose Women's 'toxic' atmosphere revealed from 'on-screen spats to backstage bitching'

The stars of Loose Women have reportedly found themselves engulfed in a "toxic" atmosphere due to on-screen spats and backstage bitching.

Woman's Own reports tensions between the panelists have been building since last summer and there's plenty of drama backstage as they clash over their views.

They said: "The drama doesn't stop off-screen.

"As you can imagine, with so many strong personalities, it can get quite chaotic."

Earlier this month there was a spat between Kaye Adams and Jane Moore, who are said to have turned on each other during a debate about childhood obesity.

After the row, Kaye posted a statement on Instagram insisting the pair were still friends despite the blow out.

She wrote: "I am annoyed at myself for losing the rag a bit. ⁣

"There’s no point in passionately arguing for something if you end up alienating people.

" @janepmoore and I have been friends for 20 years and disagree on many things but she is still one of my favourite people and if trouble came calling, I know I could count on her support.

"As the saying goes ‘ that’s what friends are for."

There were also accused of leaving out Carol McGiffin after she rejoined the show last year.

Andrea McLean revealed all the panelists were in a Whatsapp group apart from Carol.

When discussing the arrival of Christine Lampard's baby last year, Andrea said: "We're in a Whatsapp group so this morning we all got a lovely message.

Carol, 59, then added: "I'm not in it!"

She had previously complained about producers failing to invite her to the show's 18th birthday reunion.

She tweeted: "I only did 13 years and over 1,000 shows, why would I even be asked?"

However, Carol keeps her own secrets and revealed last month that she'd wed her partner Mark Cassidy in secret in 2018 - and she didn't tell any of her Loose Women co-stars about the wedding.

Mirror Online has contacted a representative for Loose Women for comment.
