Loose Women's Ruth Langsford makes This Morning hosts wince with savage swipe

Loose Women's Ruth Langsford sparked gasps from the crowd with a savage swipe.

Ruth has returned to the anchor seat on today's edition of the popular ITV programme. She is chairing discussions on Tuesday's episodes with panelists Coleen Nolan, Gloria Hunniford and Jane Moore.

The 63-year-old appeared on today's edition of This Morning to reveal what is coming up in Tuesday's episode. However, Ruth wanted to draw attention to segment on today's This Morning, which had a special connection to Coleen.

Dave Fishwick landed in Coleen's hometown of Blackpool and hosted a feature from an ice cream shop Coleen visited as a child. The panelist said: "It looks exactly the same as it was in the 60s."

Ruth aimed a brutal dig after the comment as she said: "It was 102 years ago."

Holly Willoughby and Josie Gibson hosted today's edition of This Morning and they were also shocked by the cheeky comment. Ruth appeared on today's edition of Loose Women as her husband, Eamonn Holmes, continues to criticise This Morning.

Phillip Schofield quit ITV's flagship daytime programme after he admitted having an affair with a running while working on This Morning. He responded to his critics with a statement on Instagram as he said: "Now I no longer work on This Morning I am free to say this. I hope you have noticed that it's the same handful of people with a grudge against me or the show who seem to have the loudest voice.

"This Morning is the best show to work on, with the best people. In all the years I worked there there was no toxicity. You can listen to those persistently loud voices if you like. But the thousands of guests over the years, thousands of staff and crew, hundreds of presenters and contributors all know, it is a family of wonderful, talented, kind, hard working people."

The Northern Irish broadcaster continued the spat as he took to Twitter to issue a response. He said: "Schofield has just put out a delusional statement. Like Holly he puts it on Insta Stories so if it goes wrong there is no record after 24 hrs. I'm reluctant to give the liar any more publicity but believe me Pip if you are looking for a fight, you have picked on the wrong person!!"
