Loose Women's Coleen Noleen refuses to give opinion over fears of backlash

Coleen Nolan decided to remain tight lipped on today's episode of Loose Women.

Teaching children where meat really comes from came up as a topic of conversation. It followed news that came from America, where a mum made her child eat chicken nuggets as a form of revenge on a rooster.

The family's pet chicken attacked the toddler, scratching her face. The mum decided to take revenge on the pet by cooking it and feeding it to her child as chicken nuggets, as she said it "got what was coming".

The conversation disgusted Coleen, 57, who is a vegan. She went to give her opinion on the matter before stopping herself as she said that she would be "blasted" on social media.

However, the panellist quickly added that she feels very passionate about the way that the meat and dairy industries are ran and could talk about it for the full hour. Coleen turned to a mostly plant-based diet for health reasons a couple of years back and has since educated herself on what she said were "the horrors of UK animal farming."

She expressed her strong opinions previously on Loose Women during a discussion about Animal Rebellion's Plant Based Future campaign, which saw protestors pour milk on supermarket floors.
