We'll try and be happy for our Indian two-wheeled brethren instead of being jealous, but it'll be difficult, because Triumph Motorcycles is giving them a load of free accessories to celebrate the brand's Modern Classic Anniversary month. The offer is open to anyone who buys a new Speed 400 in India from now until July 31, 2025.
The accessory bundle includes a tank pad, transparent flyscreen, a set of knee pads, and a lower engine guard. So, a pretty practical and aesthetically pleasing kit, which, if bought without the deal, would cost Rs 7,600 ($88.48).
This might not sound like the deal of the century, but when you consider how much a Speed 400 costs in India versus the US, it adds decent value to the purchase. You can walk out of a Triumph dealership in India after parting with just Rs 246,000, which is about $2,864. But if you want to do that in the US, you're looking at dropping around $4,995.
This segment of low-capacity bikes represents a large portion of Triumph's sales in the region and, as such, the OEM offers a ton of aftermarket accessories for the bike. Those who want to turn the Speed 400 into more of an all-rounder/off-roader can opt for further add-ons like a radiator guard, headlight grille, sump guard, and mud splash kit.
Those who want to push the touring capabilities of the Speed 400 can throw on Triumph-branded heated grips, luggage options like top boxes and tank bags, lowering kits, and GPS mounts.
Historically, lower-capacity bikes like the Speed 400 haven't had as much success in the US as in Asia. So I'd like to hear from you in the comments about why you would or wouldn't pick up the Triumph's smallest offering. Or, if you already have one, what are your thoughts on it?
