A plan of the Titanic carried on to a lifeboat by a survivor is tipped to sell for £30,000.
Caroline Bonnell, 30, had the folded-up pocket diagram of the “unsinkable” liner when she escaped from the ship with most of her family.
Earlier that fateful evening, she had expressed her desire to see an iceberg as they steamed across the north Atlantic.
Her wish came devastatingly true at 11.40pm on April 14, 1912, when the liner struck one.
She said: “Nobody seemed very excited; everybody was talking and it seemed to be the general idea that we would soon be ordered back to bed.”
The Titanic sank at 2.20am on April 15 with the loss of 1,520 lives. Caroline, of Ohio, died in 1950 aged 67.
Her layout of first-class accommodation is one of three known to exist.
